Annoyed

Post by sjones_1 on Fri Apr 06, 2012 6:16 pm

A while a go I was asked by a local Store for every female fighter I had as they couldn't get any in from their suppliers.

I took roughly 20 beautiful fish in to them. I returned to the store today and couldn't see any, I was excited as I presumed they'd all been sold. On talking to the staff it turns out they lost them all!! Didn't sell one. They made me feel like it was my fish that were the problem. When I've taken over 30 other fish to other shops and they've never lost one. I've still got 30-40 left and haven't lost any their entire up bringing.

I'm annoyed that they thought it was my fish when it was their system/care.

That's such a shame Sad If shops actually did water changes for their over stocked tanks and looked after the fish properly then they wouldn't have lost any Sad

Idiots!

Sam I seriously doubt it was anything to do with your fish, it would be down to the shop, especially as they lost them all.

It's just such a shame as they were such lovely high quality fish. And when you care for something for months just for them to die its such a waste.

You can tell just by looking at pictures of the fish that they are of a really high quality, and them dying would have nothing to do with you or your methods.

Bettas are the forgotten fish in pet stores.. the main display tanks are somewhat maintained, and the little fish in the cup is on a book shelf, out of sight, out of mind. When the little fish in the cup is the one that is more needy than the cycled, filtered tanks on the show room floor.

Thankfully, at least from what I've seen, betta's aren't generally kept in cups here in Britain. I've only seen it once, and they had removed them by the next time I went back. But they do end up in over stocked tanks with nippy tetras who shred their fins.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone else seen them in cups regularly?
