My new nicaraguan....

Post by Wills on Sat Jan 07, 2012 12:39 am

No pics Im afraid, though might try later they are a little more docile tonight than last time I got the camera out....

Anyway, shes a total cowbag way way way worse than Elsie, I caught her fighting with my big Choc tonight and he just kind of took it and went back into his lair... really not sure about this one already and I am thinking of rehoming :/

She has developed a bump on her "neck" though its not her head but before her dorsal fin, its slightly raised and a bit dark. Not really sure what it is...... Any ideas?

could well be but looking back at that pic of Elsie makes me remember that she had bumpy phases as well. it does not look like a bump to be fair - it actually looks like the start of a nuchal hump..... but really certain shes female.

I wonder though if the ones with more black on them go a bit more lumpy.

I seem to remember the one that I had did have a bump on its head. I wouldn't worry about it for now.

They are obviously quite a fiery minded fish, probably take a good 3-4 weeks before it actually settles in properly and chills out a bit.
